How it works
Purchase your licence
Choose from a 6-month or 12-month licence, tailored to suit the needs of your organisation. Contact hello@sandstories.co.uk with your preferred licence length and the size of your organisation and Sandstories will be in touch to discuss your requirements and set up your contract.
During the period of your licence, you can deliver an unlimited number of the half day Sandstories workshops to your workforce.
The licence will give the training commissioner access to the resource portal, which contains everything needed to deliver powerful Sandstories workshops in your service area.
Please note your licence won’t be activated until your chosen facilitators have been trained and accredited. You can then choose your preferred start date for the licence, when you will be able to plan and promote the delivery of your Sandstories workshops.

Each Sandstories workshop will be delivered by a local facilitator.
A minimum of two local facilitators, who have been nominated by the training commissioner, will be trained and accredited by Sandstories in a face-to-face session. This will ensure that they are equipped and confident in using this unique, and impactful, training tool.
By having a minimum of two local accredited facilitators, there is hopefully sufficient capacity to cover any unexpected facilitator absence from work.
The training will not only protect the integrity of the Sandstories materials but will also support the facilitators, who will inevitably encounter and ‘hold’ some deeply felt responses from participants attending the workshop.
The one day of face-to-face training for facilitators will be delivered at a local venue provided by the training commissioner.
The nominated facilitators will be familiarised with all the Sandstories resources, including the 50-minute film presented by Sue Woolmore.
“Who can be a facilitator?” in the FAQs offers guidelines on identifying suitable local facilitators. Further information can always be sought using hello@sandstories.co.uk

“Sue, you have created a training experience that is going to save countless children. Everything that I took from the training day is right there in the film. Your warmth, your passion, your urgency, your kindness, and compassion. It feels like the culmination of a career full of learning and wisdom – the way you tell this very disturbing story feels like you are holding us. ”
Clinical Lead Children’s Speech and Language Therapist“I found the training via the film equally as powerful as when we had it face to face. It was done brilliantly and I feel that anyone who has the opportunity to experience it is very lucky. A huge well done for an amazing achievement – I could have watched it for hours.”
Family Support Team Manager“Sandstories takes you on an emotional journey through the wilderness and beyond. The already impactful training has been re-created in such a sensitive way, where Sue creates a supportive environment for us to stop, reflect and plan how we can all strengthen our practice. I would wholeheartedly recommend this training. It is the most discussed and memorable training within our Local Authority and now with the format recreation, will remain so.”
Training and Development Officer“A most beautiful way to stop and reflect on how we protect vulnerable children in our society. Sandstories is so impactful and has stayed with me to draw on time and time again. Thank you.”
Children’s Centre Practitioner“Where do I begin… thought provoking, inspirational training that has totally moved me. Sandstories is something that will stay with me forever.”
Health Visitor“Sue’s passion for Sandstories shines through in this film and she supports you through thinking about/reflecting on the children we have encountered. Having been part of the live training in the past and now watching the film, the impact of Sandstories remains as powerful. ”

You are invited to contact Sue at Sandstories to discuss an arrangement for a face-to-face meeting and an opportunity to preview the film and the additional workshop materials, prior to purchasing a licence.
Sandstories is mindful of the tight financial constraints on the public and voluntary sectors. This is reflected in the pricing, which has been set at an introductory level for early adopters of this new iteration of Sandstories. More information is available at Pricing

If a multi-agency partnership (e.g. Children’s Safeguarding Partnership) purchases a licence, this can only be used for partnership training events. Individual members of the multi-agency partnership will need to purchase their own licence if they want access to Sandstories workshops specifically for their own agency.
For more information or direct discussion about training requirements and costs, please don’t hesitate to contact us via our contact form.
A MAT could purchase a licence to be used across its ‘family’ of schools, rather than each school needing to purchase its own licence. The cost of a whole MAT licence will reflect the size of the MAT.
